about

The lyrics are inspired by Stefan Krastel, whose story got much attention from the media. After his mother became a nursing case, he wanted to nurse her at home by himself. Since he realized that he barely gets financial support and that giving his mother to a nursing home would actually be cheaper, Krastel is protesting against the (German) healthcare system.

lyrics

Where is assistance and justice if not with the ones we owe our life to?
What makes deporting cheaper than caring? If we don’t ask we’ll never know where all this money seeps through

We want to be forever young, but youth is just a phase
The way is shorter than you think, from teen to nursing case

Home is no building, but a priceless feeling
What if you’re too poor to stay there for healing?
The time is near, fight for change if you still have a choice
So speak if you still have a voice

We want to be forever young, but youth is just a phase
The way is shorter than you think, from teen to nursing case

When it’s spring, think of the fall, ‘cause winter will bury us all
When it’s spring, think of the fall, ‘cause winter will bury us all

Call for answers or you’ll never grow up, never wake up
You will wish you hadn’t close your eyes to your own future, wake up…

Now!

Awareness is the first step to action
Make sure you stay where you belong
Who will pay when your wild years have stopped?
You will get old but will you ever grow up?
Who will pay when your wild years have stopped?
You will get old but will you ever wake up?
